There’s loads of worries, too. Are we ready for a child now? Do we need a bigger place? How will I cope with pregnancy?  Will I manage labour and birth? Can we afford it? What about child care? All perfectly normal concerns for the prospective parent.

Preconception care  prepares you to conceive a healthy baby, have a normal pregnancy and birth.

Getting pregnant isn’t always as straightforward for everyone as you might expect.

When is the right time to get ready for a baby?

A recent Dutch study found that to have 3 children naturally, without IVF, a woman should start trying to conceive when she is 23 years old. To increase chances of naturally conceiving a family of two children she can wait until she reaches 32 of age. Natural fertility declines with age for women and men, though it’s later for the guys.

Coming off the pill or having a coil removed is just one step in the process for the newbie or second-time-around veteran of baby-making.  Your fertility, and that of your partner, is affected by a whole variety of factors, from diet, weight and lifestyle to age and stress.  Planning to a baby involves making sure that both of you are strong and healthy. There’s loads you can do to make sure of this!

Now is the time to eat well,  shed unwanted pounds, quit smoking, sleep well, get moving and enjoy loads of great sex..  You’ll feel the benefits of a healthy lifestyle quickly and it’s good to know that you are doing everything you can for your baby.

As you become more aware of your menstrual cycle and ovulation patterns, notice any irregularities and if you’ve any underlying  problems regarding your reproductive health, now is the time to have a gp check-up,  get treated, and get then the green light to go ahead.

When you have been trying to conceive without success and there is no medical reason then it makes sense to explore how to ramp up your fertility.  Fertility coaching uses mindfulness hypnotherapy to prepare you for pregnancy. It ensure that there’s no mental blocks or buried fears stopping you conceiving and treats any fears or concerns. It boosts your natural physical fertility quickly, too.

Time is important when you are trying to conceive and making sure that you are looking after your fertility is key to conceiving success.

If you are under 35 years old? and have been trying to conceive for a year, it’s time to seek help from a fertility doctor. Over 35?  You need to check in with a fertility doctor after 6 months of  regular contraceptive-free sex.
