It’s always a pleasure to listen to LMFM’s popular Late Lunch show! You never know who’ll be in or what’s on the menu …
Gerry Kelly is the exuberant host, who chats to people from all walks of life. With an sunny charm and genuine interest, Gerry’s a master at putting guests at ease to bring out the best and sometimes unexpected in each! His humor is infectious and his enthusiasm boundless. Â An ability to listen, to empathize with each and every guest brings the listener unique and vivid experiences. Â Gerry’s readiness to take on any subject makes Late Lunch a vital daily miscellany for discerning folk in the North East. He is a respected broadcaster, well known beyond this reach.

It’s always been a delight to guest on the show and so I responded with alacrity to Gerry’s recent invitation and headed off to Drogheda on a rare sunny day.
We discussed the effects of miscarriage, I asked if children conceived by donor egg should know their origins and covered the latest from my Lisbon trip to the annual ESHRE conference. I shared some great new resources for those trying to conceive. The newest fertility supplement – pre-Conceive (yes, that’s how it’s spelt) comes to us from Pillarhealthcare.ie an Irish company. Their plant-based supplement tastes properly foul … and shows promising results in clinical trials!
Sheila Lamb – a UK-based former midwife who journeyed to pregnancy through infertility – produces ‘My Fertility Expert.’ This vibrant free online magazine covers fertility issues for couples trying to conceive. A panel of clinical experts write on different aspects of infertility in each issue.
I’m delighted to share both my articles on miscarriage in the latest two issues. News of meetings, resources and support groups in Ireland and the UK is provided. Check out Sheila Lamb’s comprehensive guide to the abbreviations used in medical and online forum discussions – and never again wonder what people are discussing!
I told listeners about my latest offering to help those struggling to conceive: #FertilityHour is on Tuesdays from 9-10. An ideal place to share, info, updates, blogs – where you can meet people in a similar situation, learn something new and maybe have a laugh, too! Join us on the Hastag next Tuesday.
Listen back for yourself and catch up below. There’s an interesting piece on bat conservation first and my chat starts at the 28 minute mark.
By the way, thanks to Lisa for an excellent cup of tea. I love being spoiled!
